Who we are
1CODE1BYTE (trading as "cøde bÿtes") is an AI development agency founded in 2022 by Abubaker Ranjha. Our operations span Islamabad (Labs), Maryland USA (HQ), and Riyadh MENA.
For the purposes of GDPR and applicable data-protection law, 1CODE1BYTE is the Data Controller of personal information collected through this website.

Information you give us
When you submit our contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The type of service you're interested in
- Your project description (if provided)
- Your browser user-agent string (for spam detection)
Information we collect automatically
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any behavioural tracking scripts. The only automatic data collected is:
- Standard server access logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp) — retained for 7 days, used for security only
- A session-scoped counter stored in
sessionStorageto prevent form spam — this is cleared when you close your browser and never sent to any server
Cookies
We use one first-party cookie/localStorage key (1c1b_cookie_consent) to remember your cookie preference. No third-party cookies are set unless you explicitly enable them. We do not use advertising cookies.

04 // Data Sharing
Who sees your data
We share your information with:
- Google Firebase / Firestore — our database provider. Data is stored in us-central1 (Iowa, USA). Google's DPA applies. Firebase Privacy →
- Abubaker Ranjha — founder, who reviews all enquiries personally
- Prospective team members — only to the extent necessary to evaluate and respond to your project scope
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
05 // Retention
How long we keep your data
- Contact form submissions — retained in Firestore for 24 months from the date of submission, unless you request earlier deletion
- Server access logs — deleted after 7 days
- Cookie preference — stored locally in your browser until you clear it; not sent to our servers
06 // Your Rights
GDPR & CCPA rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is consent-based
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g., ICO in the UK, your local DPA in the EU)

07 // Security
How we protect your data
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+)
- Firestore security rules permit write-only access to the leads collection — no client can read other users' submissions
- Sensitive API keys (e.g., AI model APIs) are never exposed in client-side code — they are proxied through Firebase Cloud Functions with Secret Manager
- We use honeypot fields and session-rate-limiting to prevent automated abuse
08 // International Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States (Google Firebase us-central1). Google LLC participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides adequate safeguards for EEA/UK transfers. See Google's Privacy and Security documentation.
09 // Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where GDPR applies). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact privacy@1code1byte.com immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of this website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
